Developer Chip Installation Issues Troubleshooting
Problem Description

Following the installation of new developer chips, devices may intermittently display error codes such as C-2A11, C-2A12, C-2A13, or C-2A14, accompanied by prompts including "Imaging Unit Detection Error," "Imaging Unit Installation Error," or "Developer Unit Installation Error."

Reasons

These issues may arise due to the following reasons:

  • Unfused Fuse: The device fails to successfully fuse the chip’s integrated fuse after installation, preventing the life counter from resetting and resulting in initialization failure.
  • Improper Installation: The chip is not securely connected to the device’s wiring harness.
Recommended Solutions

To resolve these issues, consider the following steps:

  1. Force Recalibration:

    Open and close the front or side cover of the device 2–3 times, or Restart the device 2–3 times to trigger automatic fuse calibration.

  2. Replace the Chip for Testing:

    If recalibration does not resolve the issue, replace the developer chip and carefully inspect the status of the fuse.

Verification

Upon successful fuse activation, the device will display "New Imaging Unit Recognized."
